Instrumentation Engineer 
Product Development

Job Description

Position: Full-time
Location: Montréal, Québec
Experience: 3-5 years
Education: Master or Doctoral Degree Preferably in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering

Duties:

  • Build and optimize all the elements of SPR devices (i.e., microfluidic, sensors, surface chemistry, optics, data analysis, etc)
  • Coordinate with manufacturing and engineering partners
  • Propose improvements or new designs validated through proof-of-concept prototypes with commercialization in mind
  • Work closely with a product manager or an application scientist for competitor analysis and spec definition
  • Lead system design projects to develop, test and manufacture test & measurement instrumentation which may include analog/optical circuitry, AD/DA, firmware programming and GUI

Our Ideal Candidate Has:

  • Good theoretical and practical knowledge in ADC/DAC, optical components, filtering (analog and optical), and control feedback systems
  • Excellent digital signal processing knowledge
  • Analog PCB board design, simulation and layout
  • C/C++, Python. Matlab and LabVIEW a big plus
  • API coding and GUI design
  • Speaking French, English and/or Mandarin is an assets

Field Application Scientist (Technical Sales)

Job Description

Position: Full-time
Location: Montréal, Québec
Experience: 1-2 years
Education: Master or Doctoral Degree Preferably in Chemistry or Biochemistry

Key duties:

  • Generate and qualify leads for the P4SPR product
  • Aggressively work through entire sales qualification process to exceed opportunity revenue targets
  • Manage and update the CRM database
  • Contact leads via phone and email, perform web meetings
  • Research and build new accounts (i.e.sending emails, strategic calling, LinkedIn)
  • Research and evaluate new markets and business opportunities, prospect for new leads
  • Achieve monthly quotas of qualified opportunities & pipeline attribution
  • Understand our customers’ research and apply SPR to their unique research area
  • Continuously innovate the sales process to be at the forefront of sales, business and technology

Our Ideal Candidate Has:

  • Excellent communication and customer relation skills
  • Able to operate with minimal direction and supervision
  • Hard working and enthusiastic.
  • Formal training in science, biotechnology, lifesciences, chemistry, materials science, or related fields
  • Previous experience in an academic or industrial research or development setting
  • Previous experience in a sales role for scientific instruments or other technical products is a plus
  • Experience with CRM software is a plus
  • Speak French, English and/or Mandarin is an assets

Assay Development Scientist

Duties:

  • Source immunoassay and genomic kits from various suppliers
  • Validate performance of kits based on manufacturers’ specs
  • Perform SPR testing and develop SOPs
  • Develop basic marketing material for kit commercialization
  • May have to support customer inquiries periodically
